Traditional concert with 'Dallahan'
Dallahan are one of the fastest rising forces on the international folk circuit; heavily rooted in traditional Irish music, but with hugely diverse backgrounds and influences. They call on their mixed Irish, Scottish and Hungarian heritage to create a unique and seamless musical montage, drawing in influences from jazz, funk, pop and classical music. Dallahan will push and pull you along on a musical journey, artistically transcending from tender and delicate songs from Transylvania, to relentlessly punchy Irish dance tunes littered with funk grooves and everything in between. Dallahan's new release, 'Matter Of Time' showcases the sound that they have developed since their debut album's release. Having found their feet musically when conceiving the first album's material, they have expanded and developed their ideas, exploring more ambitious and artful musical avenues whilst maintaining the same open minded approach to traditional music. Hamish Napier Hamish is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from the Scottish Highlands, working in Glasgow's vibrant music scene. He has worked with Capercaillie’s Karen Matheson, Phil Cunningham, Martyn Bennett, Treacherous Orchestra and Eddi Reader. He has toured internationally with award-winning folk quartet Back of the Moon, and now more recently in 'Nae Plans' with Adam Sutherland.Date: 11/04/17
