'Songs of the Roma' - Simon Thacker

Songs of the Roma is a new Romani musical journey, with Simon Thacker on classical guitar, Polish cellist Justyna Jablonska and one of the world's leading Roma exponents, Polish singer/violinist Masha Natanson. We contrast vivid re-imaginings of songs from the gypsy tradition in Romani, Romanian, Serbian and Russian with virtuoso new instrumental music drawing on European, Indian and Balkan folk forms, and of course flamenco in a programme full of spiritual intensity, catharsis and joy.
