Alasdair Fraser’s Mammoth Fiddle Night

Alasdair Fraser's Mammoth Fiddle Night

Prepare for a string spectacular and experience the sound of over 130 fiddles and cellos lifting the rafters of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, when Alasdair Fraser hosts another of his sell-out Mammoth Fiddle Nights. Alasdair is one of the greatest carriers of the Scottish fiddle music tradition, a fiddler whose warmly expressive playing, mastery of his instrument and deep understanding of his native music as a venerable and continually evolving art is an inspiration to generations of musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. Alasdair will be joined by the tutors on the course, who include Natalie Haas, Begoña Riobo (Galicia), Troy MacGillivray (Cape Breton), Louise Mackenzie (Scotland), Trish Strain (Scotland), Seylan Baxter (Scotland), José Liz (Galicia) and dancers, Francisco Javier Feijoó (Galicia) and Mairi Britton (Scotland) With income from this event SEALL is delighted to support one young musician from Skye to attend the fiddle course.
