Coming from a long line of griots - oral historians who have kept and promoted the history of the Mandinka cultures of West Africa -  Seikou uses his music to provide the perfect ambience and authenticity of West Africa. His compositions are inspired by Mandinka culture, and his singing and playing style observes the delicacy and poise of the Gambian traditional repertoire.
