She learned her tradition from older neighbours and relatives and has been singing and researching Gaelic song since childhood. \n\nShe recently received a PRS biennial award to produce the short piece 'Ceumannan' (steps, strides) working with vocal sculptor Jason Singh, for the Hull City of Culture programme. Then as part of an ATLAS Arts project on Skye, Anne and Jason visited India, researching Jason's background, to complement Anne's understanding of her own roots.
