'Gavin Marwick's Journeyman Spectacular'
The tunes of Gavin Marwick, fiddle, have been acclaimed by critics, requested by students, applauded by concert goers, danced to, played in sessions and on stages by other musicians and bands and in several cases recorded by them (including Old Blind Dogs, Marie Fielding, Unusual Suspects, Arz Nevez, Dochas). There are dance tunes, descriptive pieces; historic and contemporary influences; genre-specific and broad geographic influences; delight and sadness; moments of peculiar strangeness; airs, jigs, reels, marches, waltzes, strathspeys, elegies and . . . The concert will feature 5 bands: Aaron Jones and Claire Mann; Bellevue Rendezvous (trio); Up in the Air (trio); The Old Blind Dogs Allstars (4 players) and finally everyone together as the 10-piece Journeyman.Date: 25/04/14
