Rhona Cougan and Welsh opera students

Rhona Cougan and Welsh opera students

Rhona was brought up on the Isle of Skye where her initial experience in singing came from performing traditional Gaelic songs. In 1997, she won a singing competition at the National Gaelic Mod. This led to Rhona taking private singing lessons with Ann Lampard, who was then Head of Voice at the Junior Academy of Music in London and who has since moved to Skye, where she has established 'Inner Sound'. Rhona and her husband Tom Colwell have moved from Skye to Wales so that Rhona can study at the RWCMA. Tonight she is joined by 9 other student singers and a pianist, who will perform a variety of opera/musical theatre, solo and group items, from their German, Italian and French and British song repertoire.
