Skye's World Music - Quimantu, South America
Quimantu brings together over 50 instruments and some of the leading folk and world music players from Chile, Ecuador and England to form a virtuoso ensemble that thrills audiences with their passion and energy. The group’s Chilean director, is composer and multi-instrumentalist Mauricio Venegas-Astorga (ex-Incantation). Playing a formidable array of instruments Quimantu brings alive the music of South America and give it a sharp contemporary perspective, electro-acoustic violin and bass.
